Don't Be Left Behind

by Stan C. Countz

Those who rise will surely fall.
This cannot be denied.
Even "All Stars" drop the ball
And sometimes cross the line.

It's true pride goes before a fall
So take it all in stride.
No one likes a "Know It All"
Or those who pose or hide.

But God is not mocked. He won't be shocked.
In Him we can confide.
Our boat may rock; ask, seek and knock
His love is deep and wide.

So keep alert and seek Him first
He'll be right by our side.
We're dust and dirt, He'll heal our hurts
If in Him we'll abide.

So build on the rock and walk the walk
He'll break our foolish pride.
Faith is the key that opens the lock
He'll be our King and guide.

He came to His own but they received Him not.
For His sheep he'd weep and cry.
The lamb of God with no blemish or spot
For us He'd bleed and die.

Paradise was lost when He died on that cross
But in three days He did rise.
He paid the price by His sacrifice
Cut Satan down to size.

Behold He stands at the door and knocks.
He who seeks will surely find.
He came to seek and save the lost
The lame, the sick and blind.

He gave His life on Calvary's cross
For your sin and for mine.
They took their shots and for his robe cast lots.
They pierced His brow and side.

What once was gain, we count as loss
He's coming for His bride
His word He kept; He paid the cost.
So don't be left behind.
